Eligibility — HPTET 2026
JBT (Junior Basic Training)
- Senior Secondary (10+2) with minimum 50% marks + 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed or 4-year B.El.Ed.
- Graduation + 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed or B.Ed (Special Education) recognized by NCTE/RCI.
- Post-Graduation with integrated B.Ed-M.Ed or equivalent.
- Final-year students of qualifying courses can apply provisionally.
LT — Hindi
- Graduation with Hindi as elective + 2-year D.El.Ed / B.Ed.
- Post-Graduation (MA Hindi) + B.Ed or integrated B.Ed-M.Ed.
- 10+2 with 50% marks + 4-year B.El.Ed/B.A.B.Ed/B.Sc.B.Ed with Hindi.
- B.Ed Special Education with Hindi qualification also eligible.
TGT — Non-Medical
- B.Sc (Non-Medical) with 50% marks + B.Ed / B.Ed Special Education.
- Post-Graduation + 1-year B.Ed or integrated B.Ed-M.Ed.
- 10+2 with 50% marks + 4-year B.El.Ed / B.Sc.Ed / B.Sc.B.Ed.
- Final-year B.Ed students can apply provisionally.
TGT — Medical
- B.Sc (Medical stream: Botany/Zoology) with 50% marks + B.Ed / B.Ed Special Education.
- Post-Graduation in Botany/Zoology + 1-year B.Ed or integrated B.Ed-M.Ed.
- 10+2 with 50% marks + 4-year B.Sc.Ed / B.Sc.B.Ed in Medical stream.
- Provisional applications allowed for final-year B.Ed students.

Exam Pattern — HPTET 2026
The Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (HPTET) is conducted by HPBOSE to determine eligibility for teaching positions in state schools. The exam evaluates both subject-specific knowledge and teaching aptitude.
