Eligibility — HTET (Expected 2026)
Educational / Professional Qualifications

Level-1 (PRT – Classes I to V):
Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) / 4-year B.El.Ed / 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education);
Passed or appearing in HTET Level-1;
Qualification must be recognized by NCTE / RCI (as applicable). -
Level-2 (TGT – Classes VI to VIII):
Graduation (at least 50% marks) in the relevant subject and B.Ed / 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education / B.Ed (Special Education);
Passed or appearing in HTET Level-2;
Subject combination must be as per Haryana Government / BSEH norms. -
Level-3 (PGT – Classes IX to XII):
Post-Graduation in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks and B.Ed / Integrated B.Ed-M.Ed / B.Ed (Special Education);
Passed or appearing in HTET Level-3.
Age, Nationality & Other Conditions
- No upper age limit for appearing in HTET.
- Minimum age should be as per the teaching recruitment rules of Haryana (when applying for jobs).
- Candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- HTET certificate is mandatory for government teacher recruitment in Haryana.
- HTET certificate validity is lifetime (subject to Haryana Government rules).
- Relaxation in qualifying marks is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates as per state norms.
* Note: HTET is a teacher eligibility test, not a recruitment exam. Meeting HTET eligibility does not guarantee appointment. Final eligibility for PRT/TGT/PGT posts will be as per Haryana Government recruitment rules and the respective selection notification.
