What is the minimum score required to pass CSIR NET? I’m interested in understanding the passing criteria for this exam. Could you provide detailed information on how the CSIR NET exam is evaluated and what marks are required to qualify? Specifically, I’d like to know if there is a specific cutoff score or qualifying percentage set for each subject or if it varies from year to year. Additionally, insights into whether there are different passing marks for different categories of candidates would be helpful. Moreover, if there are any specific criteria for passing, such as scoring above a certain percentile or meeting section-wise cutoffs, I’d like to know about those as well. Understanding the passing marks will help me gauge the minimum score required to clear the CSIR NET exam.
Greetings!
To pass CSIR NET, candidates need to secure the minimum qualifying marks as per the criteria set by CSIR. Here’s the general requirement:
- For Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship (LS):
- Candidates need to secure the minimum qualifying marks in both the Paper-I (General Aptitude) and Paper-II (Subject-specific) to be eligible for JRF or LS.
- The minimum qualifying marks vary each year and are decided by CSIR.
- Generally, candidates need to score around 40-45% aggregate marks in both papers combined to qualify.
It’s important to note that qualifying CSIR NET doesn’t guarantee JRF or LS. The award of JRF or LS depends on the candidate’s performance relative to the cutoff marks and the availability of fellowships.
