   • CSIR NET (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test): This exam is primarily for determining eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship/Assistant Professor positions in scientific and research institutions.
   • UGC NET (University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test): UGC NET is conducted for determining eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor positions in Indian universities and colleges. It covers a wide range of subjects including humanities, social sciences, commerce, etc.
2. Conducting Body:
   • CSIR NET: Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
   • UGC NET: Also conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) but on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
3. Subjects Covered:
   • CSIR NET: Primarily focuses on science subjects such as Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences.
   • UGC NET: Covers a wide range of subjects including Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Commerce, Management, Computer Science, etc.
