What is the Fellowship Amount for CSIR NET Ls?

Fellowship Amount for CSIR NET LS (Lectureship):

1. Junior Research Fellowship (JRF):
   • The fellowship amount for CSIR NET JRF is Rs. 31,000/- per month for the initial two years.
   • After two years, based on performance assessment, the fellowship may be enhanced to Rs. 35,000/- per month for the remaining tenure.
2. Lectureship (LS):
   • For candidates who qualify for Lectureship only, there is no direct fellowship provided by CSIR.
   • However, candidates who qualify for LS can apply for Lectureship positions in colleges/universities and receive salaries as per the respective institution’s norms.
3. Other Benefits:
   • Both JRF and LS candidates are eligible for other benefits such as House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Medical benefits as per CSIR norms.
4. Contingency Grant:
   • In addition to the fellowship amount, JRF candidates also receive a contingency grant of Rs. 20,000/- per annum for the first two years of the fellowship tenure.
5. Research Opportunities:
   • Apart from the fellowship amount, CSIR NET JRF provides candidates with valuable research opportunities in various CSIR laboratories and institutes.
