Who can Apply for CSIR NET Exam?

Greetings!

Anyone who meets the eligibility criteria can apply for the CSIR NET exam. Here’s who can apply:

1. For Junior Research Fellowship (JRF):
   • Master’s degree holders in Science stream with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD candidates) are eligible to apply.
   • Candidates enrolled in M.Sc. or equivalent degree program can also apply, provided they complete the degree within the validity period of two years.
   • The upper age limit for JRF is 28 years as of the closing date of application (relaxation applicable for reserved categories).
2. For Lectureship (LS):
   • There is no upper age limit for Lectureship (LS).
   • Master’s degree holders who have secured at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD candidates) are eligible.
   • Candidates enrolled in M.Sc. or equivalent degree program can also apply, provided they complete the degree within the validity period of two years.
