Who can apply for CSIR UGC NET

    • For Lectureship: Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree or should be enrolled in an integrated Ph.D. program (submitted thesis) by the closing date of application, OR candidates with a Master’s degree or equivalent are also eligible with the same percentage criteria as mentioned above.
  2. Age Limit:

    • For JRF: The upper age limit for JRF is 28 years as of the specified cutoff date. Relaxation in the upper age limit is provided for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD/Transgender and female candidates as per government regulations.
    • For Lectureship: There is no upper age limit for candidates applying for Lectureship.
  3. Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens. However, there are certain relaxations provided for candidates belonging to specified categories (e.g., OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD) regarding the age limit and percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

  4. Subject of Post-Graduation: Candidates must have completed their Master’s degree in the relevant subject or a related field recognized by UGC.

  5. Reservation Policy: CSIR UGC NET follows the reservation policy of the Government of India for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwD, and other categories as applicable.

  6. Fellowship Tenure: The duration of the JRF fellowship is initially for two years, which may be further extended for a third year based on performance and assessment by the selection committee.

  7. Submission of Documents: Candidates are required to submit attested copies of their educational certificates, category certificates (if applicable), and other relevant documents as specified in the application form.
