Qualification Required for CSIR UGC NET:

For Junior Research Fellowship (JRF):
- Candidates must have completed or be pursuing a Master’s degree or equivalent in Science stream with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD/OBC-NCL candidates).
- The qualifying degrees accepted are M.Sc., Integrated BS-MS, BS-4 years, BE/B.Tech, B.Pharma, MBBS, or an equivalent degree.
For Lectureship/Assistant Professorship:
- Candidates must have the same qualification as mentioned above for JRF.
- There is no age limit for Lectureship.
Candidates in the Final Year:
- Candidates appearing in the final year of their qualifying examination can also apply. However, their admission will be provisional until they complete their degree with the required percentage of marks.
Reservation Criteria:
- Relaxation in the qualifying marks is provided as per government norms for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PWD categories.
Ph.D. Holders:
- Candidates with a Ph.D. degree who have completed their Master’s degree by September 19, 1991, are eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks.
Subject Eligibility:
- Candidates should choose the subject of their post-graduation for which they have the requisite educational qualification.
Age Limit:
- For JRF, the maximum age limit is 28 years as of the closing date of the application (relaxation as per government norms).
- There is no upper age limit for Lectureship.
