JK Police Constable Recruitment 2024: After UP and Haryana, now the news of recruitment of police constable has come out in Jammu and Kashmir also. After a wait of four years, constables will be recruited in Jammu and Kashmir Police. Ending a wait of over four years, the Jammu and Kashmir Home Department has sent over 4,000 vacancies for police constable posts to the Services Selection Board, officials said on Tuesday. The posts of constable in Jammu and Kashmir Police were last advertised in 2019.

Now around 4,022 posts are being advertised. After constable recruitment, it will be easier to launch anti-terrorism operations in the area. “This will go a long way in effectively dealing with various security challenges and maintaining peace and order,” an official spokesperson said.

He said that this initiative will not only contribute to enhancing the overall security apparatus of Jammu and Kashmir but will also create employment opportunities for the local youth.

Jammu and Kashmir Police was facing manpower shortage due to non-recruitment at the constable level, affecting operational preparedness and delivery mechanism. The spokesperson said that the recruitment process will be conducted soon by the Service Selection Board (SSB) for the candidates willing to apply for the recruitment process.

He said the move also reflects the government’s resolve to strengthen law enforcement agencies and ensure the safety of the people of the area, and create employment opportunities for the local youth.
