Understanding the CSIR NET Physical Science Exam Pattern is as important as the syllabus. The test is divided into three parts:
Part A:
This section contains 20 questions on general science, quantitative theoretical analysis and analytical ability. Candidates must answer 15 questions. In total, they are worth 30 points.
Part B:
This section contains 25 multiple choice questions (MCQs) based on the topics covered in ‘ACORE’, a section of the syllabus. Each question carries 3.5 points, for a total of 70 points for the section. Candidates must answer 20 questions.
Part C:
This Section consists of thirty questions selected from Section ‘B’ (Advanced) and Section ‘A’, designed to assess the candidate’s understanding and application of scientific principles The questions are probing and requires applicants to apply scientific knowledge to solve problems. Each question carries 5 marks and 100 marks are awarded in this section.
