How a CSIR-UGC NET Certificate Can be Verified

UGC NET e-Certificate is an official digital document issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to candidates who qualify the UGC NET exam. This certificate serves as proof that the candidate has successfully passed the UGC NET exam and is eligible to receive the UGC NET certificate and UGC NET JRF Certificate. Previously, candidates had to wait for several months after the UGC NET result declaration to receive the physical certificate, but now they can obtain an e-Certificate promptly.

To download the UGC NET e-Certificate, candidates need to follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official website e-certificate.nta.ac.in.
  2. Log in by selecting the institution and entering the captcha code.
  3. Choose “UGC-NET” from the dropdown list and click on the “Proceed” button.
  4. Enter the Application Number or Roll Number, date of birth, exam session, and captcha code.
  5. The UGC NET certificate will be displayed on the screen.
  6. Download the UGC NET e-Certificate for the relevant exam cycle.

For candidates facing difficulties in downloading the UGC NET e-Certificate, they should send an email request to ecertificate@nta.ac.in along with necessary documents, including UGC NET Admit Card, UGC NET Result, postgraduate marks sheet, degree, relevant certificates (such as SC/ST/OBC/PWD), and any other applicable documentation.

The validity of the UGC NET certificate is for a lifetime, confirming eligibility for both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professorship. However, the JRF Award letter has a validity of four years from the date of issue. After expiry, the JRF award letter cannot be used.
