Do Pattern for csir net and ugc net same?

While CSIR NET (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test) and UGC NET (University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test) have some similarities, their patterns are different:

1. CSIR NET:
   • CSIR NET is primarily conducted for science subjects such as Life Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, etc.
   • The exam consists of a single paper comprising Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Part B containing Subjective Questions.
   • The exam is conducted for a total of 200 marks.
   • There is negative marking for incorrect answers in Part A and Part B.
2. UGC NET:
   • UGC NET is conducted for various subjects including Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce, etc., along with some science subjects.
   • The exam consists of two papers – Paper 1 (General Paper) and Paper 2 (Subject-specific Paper).
   • Both papers consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) only.
   • UGC NET is conducted for a total of 300 marks.
   • There is no negative marking in UGC NET.

So, while both exams are eligibility tests, their patterns and syllabi differ based on the subjects.
