What are the eligibility conditions that individuals must meet to apply for the CSIR NET exam?

To apply for the CSIR NET (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test) exam, candidates must meet the following eligibility conditions:

1. Educational Qualification:

   • For Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): Candidates must have an M.Sc. or equivalent degree/Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/B.Tech/B.Pharma/MBBS with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates) in the relevant or related subjects.

   • For Lectureship (LS): Candidates must have an M.Sc. or equivalent degree/Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/B.Tech/B.Pharma/MBBS with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates) in the relevant or related subjects.

2. Age Limit:

   • For JRF: The upper age limit for JRF is 28 years as of the closing date of online application. There is relaxation of up to 5 years in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD/Women/Transgender categories and for applicants having research experience, as per norms.

   • For LS: There is no upper age limit for applying for the LS eligibility.

3. Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens.

4. Relaxation in Marks: There is relaxation of 5% in the qualifying marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories.

5. Subject Eligibility: Candidates must choose the subject for which they have completed their post-graduation or an equivalent degree.

6. Valid Documents: Candidates must possess the necessary documents (educational certificates, category certificate, etc.) as required for the application process.
