- CSIR-NET (National Eligibility Test):
- Conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
- CSIR-NET is for determining eligibility for Lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in various science disciplines.
- It is a national-level exam with a strong emphasis on research aptitude.
While IIT JAM focuses on postgraduate admissions, JEST is primarily for Ph.D. admissions, and CSIR-NET serves the dual purpose of JRF eligibility and Lectureship.
