Who can Apply for CSIR UGC NET Exam?

Candidates who can apply for the CSIR UGC NET exam include:

1. Educational Qualifications:
   • Master’s Degree Holders: Candidates must have a Master’s degree or equivalent in Science subjects, including Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or related fields.
   • Final Year Students: Candidates in the final year of their Master’s degree program can also apply, provided they complete their degree within the stipulated time frame and meet the eligibility criteria.
2. Minimum Percentage:
   • General (UR)/General-EWS Candidates: Must have at least 55% marks in their qualifying degree.
   • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/SC/ST/PwD Candidates: Must have at least 50% marks in their qualifying degree.
3. Age Limit:
   • Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): The maximum age limit is 28 years as of the specified date in the official notification. Age relaxation is available for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/female candidates as per government rules.
   • Lectureship (LS)/Assistant Professorship: There is no upper age limit for applying for the Lectureship/Assistant Professorship.
4. Nationality:
   • Candidates must be Indian nationals.
